πŸ“ Old Samurai Road - Hiyodorizaka Slope, Sakura City
The scenes along this bamboo-lined walking path are said to have hardly changed since the Edo period when Sakura was an influential castle town. Today the slope gives visitors a chance to follow in the footsteps of the samurai who once traversed this area near the old castle site. You can also tour the three preserved former samurai houses known as the "Old Samurai Residences in Sakura," which are located just beside the east entrance to the trail. This popular photo spot and slice of local history can be accessed via a 15-minute walk from JR Sakura Station, just three stops from Narita Airport.
