The 14th Tokugawa Shogun, Tokugawa Iemochi died in Osaka Castle on this day, August 29, 1866Shogun Tokugawa Iemochi reigned for just eight years from 1858 until his death in 1866. His rule was controversial, and despite being generally overlooked by historians, he appears to have been a most worthy leader.
