A flight of F-86A Sabre aircraft wait for orders at an American airfield. The jet fighter was deployed for the first time during the Korean War to take on the Soviet MiG-15 fighters, which were superior to the F-80 and F-84's which were initially deployed. The war marked the first time that jet fighters confronted each-other in air-to-air combat.
