This is an easy ditch and switch! But why, you ask?
โš ๏ธCotton is one of the most highly contaminated and pesticide laden crops (grown conventionally).
โ—ฝ๏ธThe top 10 pesticides used in the U.S. on cotton were glyphosate, ethephon, trifluralin, acetochlor, tribufos, sodium chlorate, acephate, s-metolachlor, diuron, and paraquat based on a study in 2015.
โ—ฝ๏ธSimply put, research suggests these are extremely toxic to our bodies. Many are carcinogenic and linked to endocrine disruption.

โš ๏ธ Conventional cotton products are typically bleached, which creates dioxin and leaves behind bleach residues.
๐Ÿ˜’They can also actually waste product. Raise your hand if youโ€™ve squeezed your toner or essence onto a cotton pad, and it seemingly disappears before it reaches your face. These can actually be ๐’•๐’๐’ absorbent.
So, what are better alternatives?

๐Ÿงบ Washable in your laundry with your toxin free cleaner.
โ™ป๏ธ Reusable - I actually use one side and then save for later to use the other side at nighttime or next day.
๐ŸŒ Sustainable ingredients that are bleach, pesticide, and toxin free!

๐ŸŒฟIf not going the reusable route, opt for organic, unbleached cotton rounds to avoid pesticides, dioxins, and residues.
You donโ€™t want to essentially sabotage your clean, toxin free beauty routine!
