Who gave Congress the "power" to conduct "criminal investigation", conduct a criminal trial and issue criminal subpoenas. I have tried to find that in our Constitution and found nothing that gives Congress the power to hold a criminal court. They only have the power to investigations related to legislation "laws" they might pass. They were giving no judicial powers. We have three branches of government: one writes laws, one enforces laws and one decides if laws are working fairly. Congress has no authority to hold criminal court. Here is what the Supreme Court has said:Congress’ power to issue subpoenas, while broad, is not unlimited. The high court has said Congress is not a law enforcement agency, and cannot investigate someone purely to expose wrongdoing or damaging information about them for political gain. A subpoena must potentially further some “legitimate legislative purpose,” the court has said.We have three branches of government for a reason!
