A truly wise person uses few words;    a person with understanding is even-tempered.Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent;    with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.Proverbs 17:27-28 (NLT) This proverb highlights several benefits of keeping quiet: (1) It is the best policy if you have nothing worthwhile to say: (2) It allows you the opportunity to listen and learn; (3) it gives you something in common with those who are wiser.
