THE ORIGIN OF THOUGHT The conscious mind is our presence. It is our inner I. The vehicle of our consciousness - what we are conscious of. Our I am-ness. Our "I exist-ness".The conscious mind constitutes 5% of our mind. It is also what we use to think with. The conscious mind IS thought. The subconscious mind is Awareness. You could call it the body or activity of Consciousness that is ever present, for the subconscious always abides in the Now. Consciousness and Awareness are not the same thing. Consciousness is Spirit. Awareness is Soul. The subconscious mind is deep awareness containing our emotional body that is sometimes referred to as the pain body due to the influence of the conscious mind holding an egoic mindset. It is the part of the mind that gives wings to thought. It provides (e)motion to thought, inspiring the body to move. It lives completely in the now. It is the door to the fullness of one's soul that is directed by one's true Self as Spirit. When the conscious mind settles down in its own awareness, this is soon revealed. The subconscious is responsible for all our emotional responses and the manifestation of life. The subconscious is aware we are conscious; even though we are not conscious of this awareness. Even though we are not conscious of our very own Soul. The subconscious constitutes 95% of our mind. Let it also be noted that one's true Intelligence, one's true Consciousness works directly through the Soul to act upon the subconscious seemingly bypassing the Conscious mind altogether. The conscious mind is simply unconscious of this activity.I liken the conscious mind to a camera that takes snap shots of the Now calling them yesterday, today, and tomorrow then recording them in the physical brain creating the illusion of time. All said snapshots are judgments of the Now but are not the Now itself. The subconscious mind is more like a video camera that is always on and recording. The subconscious always abides in The Now.Our purpose here on earth is always to become more conscious of being awareness. In this way we become consciously aware. This means disallowing the conscious mind to rise in thought, which equates to: Consciousness + Consciousness = Ego/False Self or illusion The correct formula is Conscious + Awareness = true Self.We as the conscious mind must keep ourselves still in the awareness of our subconscious until the two minds work as One - literally. We must become conscious of being Awareness. This One mind in its whole state becomes the channel for Spirit to intuit through the Soul and metaphysical mind, (Inner I), directing it to its highest Good.It is clear to see then that meditation and mindfulness are a major part of the road less travelled. Deep relaxation will often lead one to the development of one's true nature which is meditation, and mindfulness. Practicing meditation is really practicing to deeply relax. The meditative mind will come upon you when you are ready to ascend. Practicing mindfulness and understanding first principles are more productive. We must do away with the habit of incessant thinking and hold our mind/thought single in meditation at least 90% of the time at this point in our evolution. Meditation is akin to listening. Thinking is akin to talking. Listen more. Talk less. The mind is not a creator of life. Spirit is. The mind is a revealer of Life. Therefore listen! Keep listening until the mind merges with the Awareness of Soul that is one with Spirit aka Consciousness.A lot of people make the mistake of thinking good thinking is where it is at. It's not. The law of attraction is only a minor part of the entire show. You may as well pay more attention to Derren Browne instead of your favourite guru or metaphysician, for we are not about mentalism. We are about Spiritualism. Oh, but these are good thoughts and I enjoy them; therefore, I should keep them, are often uttered by many. No. Good thoughts or bad thoughts are still thoughts. Both originate in the mental realm. A realm you do not want your life to unfold from. You are much more than the mind and body. Do not be limited by them.Note there are two kinds of thoughts. Firstly, there are thoughts that you as the conscious mind create by rising in thought and secondly there is thought that is floating around in the ether, that was created by other people like yourself, rising in one thought after another. Your thoughts attract theirs and vice versa. You must learn to lose interest in both, ceasing to give them your attention for when you give them attention you give them life. If you enjoy your thoughts, they will stay. Thoughts are like people. The more attention you give them, the more they stick around. Be sure though, if you choose to partake of the Tree of Knowledge, that in accepting the good, you must also accept their counterpart which are thoughts you don't enjoy, for they will eventually come. They have too. Surely you have realized by now that your greatest joy is also your greatest sorrow.Remember, both good and bad thoughts steal your presence of being, distracting your consciousness, tricking you into giving them (egoic thoughts) life, instead of being present in your own Awareness, giving life to your own Soul. We want to see our true Self manifested in the physical. Not our thoughts about what Soul might theoretically be. You as a conscious mind disconnected to the true Intelligence, believe the Soul to be loving, kind and selfless so you teach yourself to be all those things, measuring yourself to be good against others that in your opinion are less good. Do you see how you hold both in your mind? Good and bad. You are still in the realm of mentalism. Until you have merged your conscious mind with the true Consciousness, you will always see life as good or bad. You will always measure this is good behaviour over this is bad. You will always judge. Remember every thought, whether it is a good thought or a bad thought - is a judgment. The Spiritual realm is neither good nor bad - it simply IS. It does not measure oneself as being good while seeing bad in one's brother. If one is partaking of the tree of knowledge, of the mental realm, then they will not know themselves to be good if they did not have bad to judge against. Do you see?Good and bad thoughts are of the same vein due to originating from the same place. They come from the mental realm which is always in all ways dual. This is the nature of thought. The minute a good thought is born, so too is its evil twin. It must be this way. The mental realm being the bridge between two worlds, must be dual. It must be polarized as it is responsible for bringing the invisible into the visible. Two opposing forces always create a reaction - movement - life - a big bang.As clever as the mind is, one must rise above the mental realm, into the Spiritual realm, where thought is held single in conscious awareness. Any activity of the mind will muddy the clear reflection of Spirit where everything is complete and whole in and of itself. The mind does not so much rise in thought as it expands in knowing-ness - in faith. Rather than letting the mind rise in thought, either good or bad thought, keep it single and still and meditation. Allow awareness, which is all knowing, to go before you, faithfully guiding you to still waters. Faith is another word for knowing and it is what our Spirit guides us with moment to moment. In the moment, somehow in some way you just know what to do, be, say or think, without having to engage the thinking process. Bottomline is people overthink. They talk too much and listen too little. They seek their truth with the eyes of flesh, rather than the I of Consciousness living a backwards half-life, half asleep and dreaming.Stop thinking and end your problems - Lao TzuStop thinking and KNOW that I AM.
