A 501(c)(3) Church has made an agreement with the government not to get involved in politics in any way.They can't campaign for specific legislation, endorse or campaign for political candidates, or directly lobby for or against any "political" cause (political as defined however the government likes.)The IRS historically has interpreted this to include WHAT THE PASTOR IS ALLOWED TO SAY FROM THE PULPIT. He can't preach about politics.The overwhelming majority of churches have made this agreement. They sold their soul to the government for a tax write off.The church is supposed to be leading the way in politics.
