I was decompressing at cocktail hour when George dropped by. I gave him a little snort in his bowl after he asked me why I looked like I'd been weaned on a pickle. I told him about one of many topics that just keep spinning 'round and 'round. You know it, the "woke" thing now that they purport to be far bigger than reality recognizes. I explained the LGB movement was supported by 3.5% of our population in 2012, and 7.1% as of 2/17/2022 according to NBC news. George asked me why it had doubled in such a short time. I told him it's because they keep adding letters to gain percentages until they're the majority. They're now up to LGBTQIAPK. No, I wasn't lyin'. You can research it yourself. George asked me to what end. I told him once they had enough letters to gain majority, they'd try via the mob rule (a.k.a. democracy) to mandate their agenda by edicts. He reckoned THAT was funny. He winked, and I gave him another snort before he started in on me. He said according to his understanding, the right to free speech was in the First Amendment, but the word "democracy" isn't anywhere in our Constitution. Yes, religious freedom is, too, and there's no established religion that supports that "lifestyle". Not even in the Middle East. A Constitutional Republic protects the rights of an individual. According to him, therefore, we're ALL free to say what we think, but NOT allowed to beat others into submission by mob rule. THEY can do what they want, but they're not free to mandate or force others to feel the same. I asked him how squirrels handled it, and he fell off the table laughing. When he got up again, he explained. They don't let them play in any squirrel games. If one of them starts chasing another of the same sex, there's the fight from Hades with all available backup. The perpetrator is then banished from their community. He claims it's not mob rule, just common respect. Just leave everybody else alone. Once again, we could learn from the animal kingdom. Any votes to confirm George to the SCOTUS?
