USS Midway (CV-41) 🇺🇲
Leading aircraft carrier of its class and the third ship to carry this name in honor of the Battle of Midway. Assigned a week after the end of the II GM, the Midway was the world's largest ship until 1955, due to its size it couldn't pass through the Panama Canal.
She was in service for 47 years, watching action in the Vietnam War and being the badge ship in the Persian Gulf in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm. Launched in 1992 and is currently a museum ship in San Diego, California, it is the only American aircraft carrier left from the II GM era that is not an Essex class.
