I'm CONSTANTLY amazed at people who revere "stars" and singers for their success. There are actually very few who can serve as mentors. The rest seem to get a tiny sniff of recognition, then feel they're "all that" and start shooting off their mouth. I especially abhor those we used to be thrilled by going political. Trust me here, YOU'VE got more brains. Remember the excellent performance by Whoopi Goldberg in GHOST? Yeah, me too. Now, I can't enjoy that DVD anymore without shaking my head. She's alienated half of her residuals for eternity! Sam Elliott in ROADHOUSE ? Same thing. If you're a performer, perform and keep your mouth shut! Actors make their money by acting like somebody they're not. Think about that. So, it's all about the money? Kinda like the definition of a prostitute, ain't it? Maybe THAT'S why politicians gravitate to them! Money and acting lessons to boot! Learning how to act one way for votes and doing the opposite! Hmmm.... Meanwhile, there's people like Dolly Parton, who perform, keep their mouths shut, make lots of money, and do wonderful things with it anonymously. When they tried to pin her down, she basically said " I don't speak about those things". When's the last time you heard something bad about George Strait or Alan Jackson? How about the old school Hollywood Actors like Jimmy Stewart? Bob Hope? Other veterans? Yeah, most of the best served, like Audie Murphy. They also did their jobs to the best of their ability, and never EVER disrespected half of their fan bases. I used their examples when I owned my grocery store in a town of 79 people. Every one of my customers were golden. We carried their groceries out, and made deliveries to the sick and elderly, even the ones who we didn't appreciate. They never knew it. That taught me a lot. That's why people like Hank Thompson played there once a year. He had a friend who lived and grew up there. Money isn't success. Acting like somebody else isn't either. You know, or you don't. I can't help you !
