Grave of Miyamoto MusashiIn an area known as Musashizaka in Kumamoto is the grave of Miyamoto Musashi. His grave lies facing a former road used by the Lord of Kumamoto when leaving and returning to the town. Musashi was buried upright, in his armor and with swords at the ready. This was done so that even in death, Musashi would always be of service to his lord.
