Jason on March 13, 2022 223 views Some of you may take this as me bashing Truth, and that's not the case at all. I'm an ardent Trump supporter and Conservative Republican and despise big tech, censorship as a whole, and view mainstream media as the enemy, so I desperately want Truth to succeed. However, I'm starting to get extremely concerned. Trump was using Twitter long before he ever became a Presidential candidate. He lived on the platform and used it to get elected POTUS, as well as communicate to his supporters, detractors and other world leaders which encompassed his 80M deep following. Why then, has he only posted one Truth on his very own platform in now over a month? In the past two days, I received 11 emails from Trump's official email. Over the past 30 days, I'd imagine they would amount to a triple digit number. That's not even counting the other emails he's "associated" with. Truth was built on free, previously developed code known as Mastodon. Mastodon is very limited and does not offer much in the way of features. This is why you see Parler, Gettr, and now Truth only offering "Twitter-like" platforms because their code is easy to manage when you offer users no features. Wimkin is entirely different in scope, and is similar to both Facebook and Twitter combined. We did this for a reason as we know so many are disappointed when they try new "free speech" platforms looking for Facebook features. They quickly realize the features they want are simply not there and sadly, never will be there because these companies used code that was previously written and cannot be manipulated to scale. It also makes Wimkin 500% harder to run and manage as we're so feature heavy. The way Truth Social has rolled out saddens me. Social media isn't easy at all, and the fact Trump has billion dollar backers makes this all extremely troubling. The fact Devin Nunes gave up a much needed Republican seat to run Truth irks me. The wait list alone should never be but the fact an Android app doesn't exist literally makes 0 sense. Trump himself, not using his own platform makes 0 sense. Nothing makes sense from a technical nor business standpoint about Truth, nor the boastful approach Trump took to his now deafening silence. As we grow, I truly believe we're going to be one of the very few free speech platforms standing, and perhaps the biggest. We couldn't have done this without any single one of you.
