Instead of concentrating on what THEY want me to, when truth is popping out at every turn, I usually sit back, relax, and watch 'em running around like fire ants when you kick their hill. No, I didn't watch the Super Bowl OR Olympics. Instead, we watched an old DVD called "For Richer or Poorer" with Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley. Icing on my cake after my normal weekend pleasures. "Hondo", "Cannonball Express", "Paradise", "Hawkeye", and "Maverick" are on Saturday and Sunday here on GetTv. A wonderful trip to a simpler time. My favorite is "Paradise", and I identify more with John Taylor than anybody else on that show. A self imposed hermit because life's more peaceful that way. His pearls of wisdom are priceless, and beat anybody else in our culture today. After, when the weather's nice, I go out with my applejack and have a conversation with my favorite rodent, George. Yeah, George Squirrel, who has his OWN page here on Wimkin.
While the world's losing their mind over every invented distraction and fear imaginable, I'm reminded of a story I learned many years ago. A scrawny kid appears in a logging camp applying for a job. The foreman laughs in his face, but the kid said to try him for a week, and if he didn't make the grade, he'd move on without a dime. With nothing to lose, the foreman dropped him off at a site, and came back to pick him up that evening. He'd cut six cords by himself, one more than the rest. This continued all week, and he was always one or two cords ahead of seasoned loggers. Curiosity got him, and on Friday, he snuck up during the day, and watched the kid. He'd cut like a madman for an hour, then go relax under a tree after having a drink of water. Then, he'd go back at it. The foreman got ticked, ran over, and demanded to know what he was doing relaxing on the job, yet outcutting everybody else. The kid said all's he did was get a drink of water, sharpen his saw, and go back to work.
While most were paying more attention to the "woke"FL, or the China debacle, or any of the rest of the perpetrated garbage, we were just sharpening our saws for the appointed time and place..........

That's a very effective habit, sharpening the saw.
