ATTN GARLAND COUNTY AND HOT SPRINGS CITIZENS, AR VOTERS. THIS EFFECTS YOUR MONEY.We need your help to vote NO to the 0.625% tax increase for road repair. The chamber and its pundits are pushing this as if there is no budget for road repair unless you vote for a new tax. How does every other county do it with lower tax rates than ours?Please vote Feb 8th or early voting at the courthouse begins Feb 1st.This tax was supposed to end after the new jail and communications center were funded, then it was going to end after the 2 lane bypass extension was funded, and now they want it to last forever.A Hot Springs resident buying a happy meal for their child is charged 12.5% sales tax on that happy meal. This is the absolute highest in the state. If more money is needed for roads then it can be found from the A/P budget used to extort locals out of money to pay for tourist advertising. Meanwhile those same locals are struggling to take care of their own families while shelling out money so the A&P commission can have a private slush fund with minimal oversight that they can use at their discretion.VOTE NO TO THIS TAX INCREASE!
