What would you say to an elected official stating that "no amendment is absolute"?  Well if that is the case with the 2nd amendment, what about the rest? For that matter, what about the entire Constitution? Yes, the President said that today.  It is not just another gaffe that can be swept under the rug.
Our founding fathers had the foresight to know that there would be many elections and viewpoints through the years.
They understood that changes might be required in the future.  In order to assure that those changes were made in a delibrate, well thoughtout manner, they established a mechanism for the change.  An amendment must be authorized by 2/3 of members of both Houses.  Then it must be ratified by 3/4 of the states.
Nowhere in my studies of the Constitution or Federalist Papers have I seen a clause or argument in favor of an administration's ability to change the Constitution "because I said so".   Stop, think and remember how government has become more intrusive in our daily lives.  It is past time that we stand up for our rights and privacy!  Study, speak up and prepare!
