The English language has so many marvelous words. Our founding fathers were familiar with the nuance of the words they used. It is a shame that through the years we have lost so much of our language. Clichés and sound bites have become the norm.Today, I was reading a magazine article regarding a gun related incident that occured last Oct. in New Mexico. The author teaches that a crisis is managed in three stages. PREVENTION, you see different scenarios and keep them from happening. INTERVENTION, ok it is happening how do I stop the damage. POSTVENTION, it happened, analyze what happened figure out how to keep it from happening again. Generally, the third term has only been used in psychology regarding therapy for those touched by another's suicide.These three little words can be applied to almost any situation. Think about it, an icy road, an illiterate society, a loss of rights. How do you prevent the situation? How do you stop the damage? How do you help others avoid it from happening again? Research, think, speak up and prepare!
