Although the F-15 was the most feared fighter over the Bakaa Valley in 1982, it was the F-16 that downed more Syrian jets (44 out of 85). Using all-aspect IR missiles such as the AIM-9 and Python, Israeli F-16s closed-in and cut swathes through SyAF MiG formations.
