TV ads around the holidays can lead you to believe that you aren't enough. After all, she buys him a truck (payments are over $700 a month for 7 years), he buys her diamonds (again on credit). After a couple of years of the insane gifts and payments what do you have? Anger, frustration, stress and stuff that is no longer bright and glittery!
At a point in time, my husband and I owned grocery stores in tiny towns in what had been an area depopulated by the Dust Bowl years. The stories I gathered from the "old-timers" were fascinating! They blamed so much of the destruction on easy credit and greed. Those that managed to hang on through those years learned lessons. They figured that if they didn't have to borrow they may not have as much BUT what they had was theirs. My husband and I've been down the road of credit .... We took those lessons and learned to live within our means. Today, what we own we own outright. Each month our payments consist of electric bill, phone/internet bill, water bill, and yes, we also pay our insurance and taxes.
It is a shame that today's society no longer can grasp the concept of working and striving for what they want! We have allowed our governments to become bloated beyond recognition! It is past time that we consider the ramifications of our inattention! Prepare.......
