Ok, I am feeling a bit Curmudgeonessly today. TV ads begging for just $19 a month for some worthy cause, I question just how much goes to the worthy cause when they spend so much on the slick ads. TV ads using elderly spokespeople with annoyingly whiney voices, do they really believe the whine will entice?I really have to shake my head at the financial ads. "Get paid 2 days early" really, how does that help? Then you have the ones touting some new app that will help you control your outlay? A spokesman claiming he can't remember the last time he looked at his credit card statement! Or the app to help you cancel forgotten subscription services.Folks, enough! I look at my bills every month, how else would I know that 32% of my electric bill is comprised of fees and taxes? My phone bill is worse, 43% is fees and taxes. It seems like a lot of bait and switch is occurring and people are ignoring all of it! People, people, people pay attention, "it's MY money", demand accountability and speak up! Ok, you are safe now, my New Year's rant is over!
