Happy 51st birthday to the F-14 Tomcat! Yes it's been 51 years since when the F-14 had her first flight on December 21st, 1970 , hard to believe I know! Equally hard to believe she was retired with the USN 15 years ago! She still soldiers on however with the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, who have gone as far as to modify MIM-23 Hawk SAMs (Surface to Air Missile) to fire from their Tomcats!
