" Doctor, am I going to die ? " "Well, yes, but so will I". C'mon, it's inevitable. While there's people out there willing to live just one more day no matter the cost, there's a lot of us contemplating other things. Like, how did we live? Did we do our absolute 100% best 100% of the time? Not if you're honest. The most important legacy is what you inculcated to others and your children. Next, what did you do to insure continuity of our nation's freedoms? How will you be remembered by those who knew you? When people hear your eulogy, will they recognize the person who's being described as you? Very few people my age pass on still living as a narcissist. At some point in their lives, they realize they're but a cog in the geartrain of life. Many try and make amends for past transgressions. Many try to make a difference in other's lives. Many volunteer at community charities. Some try and write their memoirs. The fact is simply that everybody learns sooner or later they missed their target. Now, they've got to admit it and move on or pass away a bitter old person. We've met them from both sides.
Now, the opportunity to show your true colors has presented itself. Are we willing to sacrifice our time and efforts for the betterment of this nation we're leaving behind? Are we willing to stand our ground and refuse to comply with the destruction of all we've held near and dear? Will we unite as one and say enough? That's the question. There's people on many sides, and they usually present as who they represent. There's the negative defeatists who say it's too late in order to rationalize their apathy and lethargy. There's the ones who'll stand up and fight for what's right because that's all there is for them. Then, there's the ostriches who keep their heads buried in the sand hoping somebody else will handle everything for them. There's critics on both sides who's opinions should be kept to themselves. There's the drug addicts who only exist to escape their reality. Right now, the only ones we need are the selfless types who're willing to make one great last stand for the country we grew up in. Stand up to criticism. Stand up to censorship. Stand up to socialism. Stand up against special interests. Drop the hypocrisy and boycott businesses that support the very ones who have biologically attacked the world.
This isn't for the faint at heart. All of the Patriots who've died for our freedoms in our history mustn't have died in vain. If you'd rather go support THOSE stores, why not just learn to speak their language and MOVE THERE? Have we become such a bunch of milquetoasts that we no longer care? NOT ME. Yes, I'm a veteran who served. Some others have dedicated their lives fighting fires. Some have committed themselves to law enforcement. When your world comes crashing in, there's a dedicated first responder. Medical personnel for the most part pay a heavy price for their service to others. Linemen are always there. What about YOU? Is it YOUR time to step up for what's right, or will you continue to dwell in your quiet life of desperation; sad, despondent, and defeated? Tackling the very real problems in our country right now needs strong, unified people. It takes attending school board meetings. It takes sitting in courtrooms and communicating your feelings via email to judges and District Attorneys. It takes riding along with Sheriff's deputies and police. It takes making phone calls when you know/see something. It takes getting off your duff and communicating with politicians. It takes getting involved. Now.
Or, maybe you prefer your name on a shingle in your local Boot Hill. Your choice. Not mine.
