Lord love a duck, I'm getting REALLY sick of ignorance and stupidity. Not too long ago, one of my social media "friends" decided to attack me for being unaffiliated, calling me a clandestine democrat who was hiding rather than admitting I voted for Biden. To set the record straight, I voted for Trump because I hate the marriage of democrats and the democratic socialist party, as well as their stance on late term and partial birth abortion. Yet, this clown prognosticated incorrectly I had changed parties after my vote. I've been unaffiliated since I can remember, and there's a reason. Until the aforementioned reasons, I always voted for the most qualified person. In actuality, I'm more of a libertarian (search the definition yourself) but they rarely run a candidate and I don't vote party lines anyway. I'm one of them there mavericks. I'm not a groupie, and hate being "politified" in any way, shape, or form. Rather than educate this guy, I elected to ignore his comment until he tagged me and called me out. I simply told him I remembered when I had my first beer too, wished him a happy life, then UNfriended him. He was just acting stupid on purpose. Had I wanted to, as I've done in the past, I'd have explained his ignorance and demanded to know who had supplied him with faulty information. I didn't this time because I realized he'd proceeded to stupid on purpose. Here's the God's honest truth. Being unaffiliated, I can vote in either primary I desire. I can vote against any incumbent, or vote for the weakest. Then, in the general election, I can vote any way I wish. It's almost like having two votes. Anybody has the right to vote as they wish, but they don't get to pick on me for voting how I do. Being unaffiliated, they'll never know HOW I vote. Maybe that's why people hate hearing my registration choice. I haven't "sold out" to a party line, and hate Kool-aide anyway. God and I made me, and I pray before I vote. Only God knows who I voted for. Being a mostly libertarian supporter, I usually vote for less government intrusion, and less taxation. More freedom to pursue what I want as long as I don't intrude on others and it's legal, moral, and ethical. Watching people sell out to any party is truly distressing to me, enough to advocate for literacy testing of voters along with photo I.D. Watching Fox or CNN doesn't help pass a truth test. The ones that REALLY crack me up are the family members who'll talk smack and expect to get away with it "because we're blood". If they're "blood", politics wouldn't even enter into the equation. I guess that's the "live and let live" part of the libertarian in me. Have I lost touch with family? Of course. It's really hard when you live far apart and never hear from somebody unless they want to argue with you about politics. They have no information about my lifestyle, and only have old memories of who I was, not who I've become. The sooner people realize we're all different, the sooner we can unite and take ahold of these political miscreants and take them to task. As I've iterated in the past, when it's your time to die, who's going to climb in that bed and go with you? The last answer on the face of the earth is a politician! Family? Never heard of it. So, why do people hold these miscreants up as mentors or idols? Obviously, it's because someone is telling you to. The only ones who'd do that are the ones with the most to gain. I WONDER who THAT could be? Educate YOURSELF, and vote. IF you're unaffiliated, nobody will ever know how you voted unless you tell them.
