The way forward to progressing to a free society isn't embracing divide by doubling down, it's finding common ground and recognizing the common enemy. While we agree with the verdict of the Rittenhouse case as a clear cut self defense in a sea of complicated circumstances, we don't need to champion someone acting in self defense as a hero or turn them into a false idol so we can dunk on our political opponents. He protected himself. That is not heroic. That is self preservation.
