Have you noticed how it seems that people BELIEVE they must get new stuff.....I wore hand-me-downs growing up, hems were taken up and down. The seams were taken in and out. My Mother made me a green velvet ankle-length jumper for a Christmas concert over 50 years ago. I wore it for several years, then it was stored away. In my late 20s I came across it. I wanted a standout cocktail dress for several parties, I changed the bodice and hemmed it up, voila new dress. Several years later I needed a long formal, voila I let the hem down. I still have that dress stored away. Someday I may decide to make it into something else. We all NEED to step back and re-evaluate our spending, both personal and governmental. We are feeding the inflation bug by spending money we don't have on things we don't need!
