When my husband and I first married we were older and had "learned a few things". We had a basket on our front door. When arriving home, prior to unlocking the door, each of us took a moment to mentally unload the anger and frustrations from our day at work, those were outside influences that shouldn't have a bearing on our relationship. Our home was our haven, our "safe" place. Yes, we read the paper and watched the nightly news. Oh my, we had many lively discussions through the years because we were adults who disagreed. But here is the point, we could define what we allowed into our home, it was easy to just turn off the TV and radio, not read the paper and not answer the phone. Today, we ALLOW ourselves to be bombarded constantly, we get more and more wound up. We forget that we still have the ability to just "turn it off". Stop being angry for angers sake! Find joy, be vocal, be civil, but stop JUST being angry!
