Today, I can say I truly enjoy the fall. The trees show off, the breezes pick up, the humidity drops, it bears the promise of lighting the wood stove, baking and the lushness of the silence of winter. It hasn't always been this way, growing up it meant bone-chilling cold winds and drifting snow. At the ranch it was feeding cattle and knowing the road was filled with drifts. When we had the stores, deliveries could be stopped or late due to the roads being iced! On the boats it meant the end of hurricane season! Oh, the adventures we have had! Today, as I hang out the laundry I do a happy dance as I know by the end of the weekend fall will finally arrive in my little corner of North Carolina!
