We're all familiar with the song, "Crying In The Chapel" by the Orioles, released in 1953 on Jubilee 5122. However, "Crying In The Chapel" was originally a Country song. It was written by Artie Glenn for his son, Darrell. It was released as Valley 105, in May 1953 and reached #1 on Cash Box, #6 on the Billboard Pop singles chart, and #4 on the Billboard C&W chart. Pictured here, from my collection, are the 78 RPM versions of both songs, plus the original sheet music for the Darrell Glenn version.
