It's becoming clearer and clearer now. The rifts in our society are being fanned like the flames in a prairie fire. Ne'er-do-wells seem to be having a ball at our expense. It doesn't matter what topic we choose to discuss. It isn't strictly related to politics. It's an evil lurking everywhere. The political hype mills are in full generation on both sides. People feel free to criticize and condemn others whose opinions are contrary to theirs. There's actually people who feel they have the right to impose their will on others, especially in government. In actuality, that's the most un-American concept in our nation's history. This new philosophy born of tyranny will fail in time, but the longer it's tolerated, the more damage it will do. I don't give a rip what you want to believe, just don't ever get the idea you've got the right to force your beliefs on me or others. The very idea of it is so aggravating to me, I become dangerously patriotic. We aren't being ruled by tyrants who oppress, we're being governed by our representatives with our consent. We've got to remind them of that. Without the consent of the governed, it's called a coup. History is replete with examples, including the ones who were repeated because of the ones who didn't learn from them in the past. That's why people don't post on social media anymore, or like you'll find below, utter the same platitudes and comments of subrogation. "We need to pray", "it's too late now", "we've already lost", "it'll never happen", and such and so on. Pray, yes, then follow with action. It's never too late. We haven't lost. It will happen. There is indeed an awakening happening, because so many people are becoming so sick of the pervasive strife. This is not the national feelings of hearth, health, and happiness we grew up with. It's the misdirected feelings of frustration imposed on a forgiving people with the malicious intent of coaxing more money out of them to solve the problems that were created for that exact purpose. It's all been tried before, and on exhibit in countries like China, North Korea, Venezuela, Iran, ad nauseum. Yes, it's being tried here, but failure is guaranteed. Since our inception, our country was brought up in the way it should go. I fervently believe it won't deviate from that. We could hasten our return to the nation we all seek. We could act like adults instead of terrible two year olds running around in fear and terror. We could relearn the concepts of constructive debate. We could remember the principles of tolerance. As distasteful as that sounds in today's climes, it's actually the only feasible answer. If we don't pursue that avenue, the next one isn't going to be as fulfilling as certain people purport. There's never been a revolution in the history of the world that would even hold a candle to the one that's upcoming here should we be stupid enough to go that route. A LOT of people will be killed, and a LOT of stuff's going to get broken and destroyed. While we're down, our enemies will simply walk in and take over, winning our hearts and minds with loaves of bread and rationed water. For that scenario to play out would necessitate a majority of our population being narcissists and hedonists. There's too many alcoholics and drug addled people on that side that don't even know which end is up. Our past "kumbaya" hasn't worked, and shouldn't be confused with my definition of tolerance. There's a world of difference to the educated. Suck it up, American ! If you're here, you are. No hyphens. No colors. American. Act like one your parents would be proud of !
