I can remember when we had a ranch "out west". It was high desert, water was always a topic of conversation! The previous owner had planted an orchard near the house that needed to be watered. I can so remember carrying buckets of water to those dang trees all spring and summer! Come fall we were looking forward to a few small apples, right until one of our intrepid bulls broke thru the fence and ate them... I spotted him thru the kitchen window, racing out with a broom in hand I chased him out! It was a stupid thing to do! He was a range bull not exactly a sweet milk cow. Not sure what brought up that memory, could have been the 7 inches of rain we got last night. Different times, different rain totals!
