Did you know that the Col. Phil "Hands" Handley, USAF, holds the record for the fastest-speed air-to-air gun kill ever? Handley shot-down a NVAF MiG-19 over Hanoi using the F-4E's 20mm cannon, while doing over Mach 1.2 (June 2, 1972). This was the only MiG-19 shot down by cannon fire during the course of the war in Southeast Asia.
