This is often a learned behavior due to trauma (in all races). Trauma leads to anxiety, awaiting the next outburst, beating, argument, etc. One subconsciously learns constant argument releases fight or flight chemicals in our brain which relieves the pains of anxiety. It is like morphine, and it is addictive. Like morphine it damages the body to do this, the stresses of fight or flight burn a person out and it only delays the anxiety, like drinking constantly to avoid a hangover.
Stop picking fights, stop creating bad situations just to run away from them, stop creating panic so you can hide and freeze in place. Self medicating, with panic, to deal with your anxiety is no way to live. It is time to face your trauma, it is time deal with your trauma, it is time to find closure, and it is time truly lessen your anxiety.
You'll live longer and be happier for it.
