Plywood. Yeah, that's it. I was thinking about trees at first, but that just didn't work. Trees grow up regardless of struggles. As we face serious tribulations in our lives, the efforts to deal with them become the glue that holds the new ply awarded after conquering the struggle. The size of the ply awarded depends on the seriousness and depth of the struggle. Younger people who haven't faced many struggles have paper thin plies that are always flexible. As they continue in life, the glue gets stronger and the plies get thicker. When people become my age, we're rather inflexible because of the number of plies and all that glue in between. Yes, we earned every one. The hard way. Knowledge once gained the old fashioned way stays in our bones. We know what works simply due to the fact we know what DOESN'T work. Yeah, we made mistakes but we conquered them. Now, the younger generations don't seek our counsel or opinion on anything because they think we're too inflexible and can't see the forest for the trees. They're convinced they can build a better mousetrap even if it would cost $500.00 in a store. That's when the fun begins. In order to sell more of the "new and improved" mousetraps, they've got to get rid of the 2/$5.00 wooden ones. So, they lobby politicians and pay contributions to their campaigns in order to get a law passed to outlaw the competition under the guise of environmental conservation or some such nonsense. They know they can't compete on an even scale, so they cheat. Then, they utilize their "cancel culture" to insure you're not going to say anything against them. Even when the "new and improved" versions prove to be ineffective, that's all there is left. The impact on society is irrelevant. They won. The politicians won. The people lost. Of course, mousetraps are only an example. You can fill in the blanks with any "redesigned" and "improved" theory put forward today without evaluation or testing. The main problem today is the failure of We The People to call them out in the early stages. They seem quite content to make demands, mandates, edicts, rules, executive orders, regulations, ad nauseum instead of laws to further their agendas. The MSM seems quite content to hide the truth of the matters, and resultant failures, like Joe's drone strike that killed an aid worker and nine others, not a bomb maker. The list is long. Like Newsom's kids virus positive and he's not. We seem to have forgotten that anything but a law has no power. Even when they make something a law, compliance and enforcement of it are two different things. Equal representation under the law is another. Then, there's always the civil disobedience thing. Allowing two different sets of laws for us and politicians and their cronies demands civil disobedience. We've simply got to place the blindfold back on Lady Justice. We need to purge laws that are irrelevant. We need to somehow consult with the elderly in order to glean some of their wisdom and coping techniques. A good 99% of our problems today could be solved by enforcing existing laws equally amongst all. To change any law should require serious investigation, and approval by consent of the governed. Legal precedents need only carry specificity to the individual cases, not all that appear to qualify. Truth in the courts is to be required above all, instead of rules of evidence. If not, a Constitutional Republic cannot survive. It IS just that simple. It really is. Think about it. If not, expect more "new and improved" mousetraps. And paper thin plywood that won't hold up under any strain.
