A furor has been unleashed over the imminent release of Woodward and Costa's "Peril" , their latest book. Released excerpts are once again proving to be a diversionary tactic that's going to be the latest topic in the build-up to the 2022 mid-term elections. As you've seen, ALL the characters in the previous administration came out last week as well as in California. Being a former military man, however, forces me to view things in a Constitutional way instead of political. Yes, I'm unaffiliated. The only way to get to the bottom of all this hoopla is via the truth. That's the crux of the problem. Since I heard about it, I started digging. The actual book isn't due for release until next week, but the facts of interest have been released that must be verified for veracity before sides are taken. Should these purported email's exist, and are verified, we are now faced with ANOTHER Constitutional case amongst many that have heretofore been ignored. People will just say it'll be ignored, like the rest, but it's more consequential than that. THIS goes straight to the heart of the good order and discipline for our Armed Forces. The LAST time was the Bergdahl fiasco, which most don't even know the outcome of. It wasn't good for the morale of our military, to say the least. On top of that, it still ain't over !
Predictably, all the information is polarizing, but the inference is clear. While they'll be purporting that Trump's a loose cannon, the inference that Milley circumvented our nuclear protocols in consortium with Pelosi, as well as secretly calling his Chinese counterpart, is chilling. People are calling for a Courts-Martial, but they've never served. While there are articles in the UCMJ pertaining to spies, mutiny, and sedition, there are none that address treason, which is the term that fits this action. Treason IS addressed in 18USC, and the benchmarks actually seem to be written for this specific case. SHOULD the evidence actually exist to prove what's been purported, there's SEVERAL people who are on the hot seat, not just Milley and Pelosi. Anyone who knew, that didn't report the actions, are willing accomplices. Upon a successful conviction of Milley, he could then be charged under numerous articles that could result in his reduction in rank to E-1, and dishonorable discharge without pension after serving time awarded. On top of civil penalties for treason, which aren't very tasteful.
Now, we're going to see the character of Merrick Garland, the Attorney General who was nominated by Obama for the Supreme Court. This will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt the man's mettle, and demonstrate to the world whether a mistake was made or not concerning his confirmation. He's the only one who can start an investigation at this point. Nancy can't, that's more of the fox guarding the henhouse than the "investigations" of Jan.6th, whereby the head of the Capitol Police is investigating itself. Joe won't call for one for obvious reasons, and would probably pardon Milley if he IS convicted. I don't really know the constitutionality of that, though. Treason is the highest crime on the list, and history wasn't polite to those who committed it. No matter what you say, this won't go away. It's too important for our military and the perceptions of our strength in front of the world. This will HAVE to be addressed, and soon. This will NOT go away because there's too many millions of veterans like me who don't appreciate our previous service being sullied by someone of Milley's lack of morals and integrity should that prove to be the truth.
Appreciate this for the gravity it represents. Pay attention, and get the facts yourself. It's important !
