Rockefeller’s plan was to bury a steel tuning fork deep in the bosom of Manhattan. Each tower would be wrapped from dirt to sky in solid metal. Its thick outer walls were kept hollow for resonance. Rockefeller’s 110 story instrument would play the song of 2,996 people being sacrificed on live camera.
