The problem with spending a lifetime working in Washington DC, is that there is too much money up for grabs. Too much power available. Everyone has the dirt on Everyone else.These things all lead to corruption, and soon you are no longer working for those that sent you there but the people that give you envelopes of money under the table to vote a certain way on the bills that benefit those they represent. Once this process has begun there is no way back. The whole thing works almost like the old style mafia, but is far more insidious.
