Have you tried making bone broth for your pet? There are so many recipes out there and most are for human consumption. Because it is your pet you must be certain that the recipe is not providing too much salt or other ingredients that could be harmful for your pet. It’s fairly easy to do: get the bones and add water, cook in a crockpot for 8-12 hours, remove bones (don’t feed to your dog), cool broth, and store. Most recipes I’ve seen you can store the broth in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
What if?:
- You didn’t have to do any of that? No searching for beef or chicken bones. No cooking for 8-12 hours. No waiting for it to cool. No storage concerns.
- There was an alternative? Already made for pets. One that also has pumpkin, carrots, parsley, and turmeric. One that has protein, glycine, collagen, glucosamine, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. And BEST OF ALL - freeze dried into a powder so there is no need to worry about the 2 week storage in the refrigerator. You could sprinkle on your pet’s food as much or as little depending on the needs of your pet.
If you enjoy cooking for your pet, please continue as there is nothing better than taking care of those wonderful fur babies. But if you are interested in the alternative, please let me know I'd love to help you and your pet.
