How many times have parents said they want "better" for their children? I am a strong believer in education but not indoctrination. I believe that somewhere along the way our education hierarchy determined that all children were to be the same. Rather than nurturing the individual, all children were forced to fit the cookie cutter that the government demanded. My opinion is that not every child needs a college education. Not everyone can be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, we will always need the craftspeople. Yes, I am talking about old-fashioned apprentice programs. Yes, some will be needed to design the high tech machines, but we all still need the mechanic, the woodworker, the plumber. Our country needs all of us, not just "you know" - the highly educated ivory-tower elitists demanding compliance.
