In one of the most famous Naval Aviation photographs taken during the Vietnam War, LT Jack Terhune ejects from his F-8 Crusader after the airplane flamed out 20 miles short of USS Coral Sea (CVA 43) steaming off North Vietnam #OTD in 1965. Terhune was rescued from the South China Sea, uninjured.
