From the very beginning our heavenly Father gave man a free will to do with whatever he pleases. Man already had the knowledge of the difference between good and evil. Only not the recognition of it or what it was exactly. When Satan tempted Eve Adam was standing there next to her and he could have opened his mouth at any time and revealed Satan's lies but he didn't. Adam did not have the realization of what evil was and what Satan was willing to do to get them to fall into sin. It was only after they had eaten the forbidden fruit that their eyes were opened to the realization of what evil is.
Both Adam and Eve had a choice. They could have ignored Satan and continued on with their lives in the garden. Or either one of them could have exposed Satan's lies an put him in his place. The fact that they had a choice =means they already had a free will.
Knowing this it becomes clear why our Father created evil in the first place. Evil is a test. When we give into it like Adam and Eve did we condemn ourselves to death. If we do not repent of the evil we have done we have condemned ourselves to the second death spoken of in the Book of Revolution.
Our lives here is all about the test. Who will pass and who will fail. That is why our lives are a series of choices. Good choices, Bad choices and not so bad choices. Every time we make a bad or a not so bad choice our Father waits to see how long it is going to take us to ask him for forgiveness, If we ever do. He fully expects us to ask him to forgive us every time we fall victim to evil and/or fall into evil's many traps. As often as we fall into sin our heavenly Father is right there with his hand out more than willing to forgive us our sins.
