Lots to see here in this May 1966 bird's-eye view of USS Enterprise (CVAN 65) 🇺🇲! There are four planes ready to catapult (three A-4s and one F-4), sailors sunbathing atop the island, and stacked pallets right off the flight deck at the bottom of the photo. We count twenty three A-4s, nine F-4s, three A-3s, one RA-5, and one E-1 visible, with at least two aircraft hiding behind the island. During the 1965-66 cruise, USS Enterprise did not have any A-6 squadrons aboard (they would come on the next cruise).
