Watched "Independence Day" on DVD last night. Remember the President's speech? Yeah, it gave me the tingles and brought tears to my eyes. The only thing that does that anymore is watching the old movies. When I tried to compare to anything today, it wasn't there. I also remembered how they've effectively censored Trump in the political attempt to influence the upcoming elections by disallowing his opinions from the American people. The only things we see anymore are horror, fear based, and division; and that's just the news ! Nothing for us rural folk unless we pay $150-$200.00/mo. for cable if you can get it or satellite if you don't. Even when TV comes in, shows like "Highway To Heaven", "Gunsmoke", "Bonanza" , and "Little House..." are only on during the day. The media is definitely following an agenda. There's those of us who have known, and those who think we're nuts. They're entitled to their opinion, but it doesn't change mine. With everything happening right now, we only see the minority slant on things while the majority is ignored. When only 4% of the population is getting all the press and the other 96% are ignored, it's blatantly obvious. Then, "community standards" are imposed to censor social media. No matter what they've all tried to do, Americans celebrated Independence Day in huge numbers and ways. There were parades, fireworks, people reading the Declaration, and small get-togethers all over our nation. With the lack of coverage, one can only assume that if it wasn't Delta, hurricane, or the Condo, it wasn't to be seen. People celebrating liberty and freedom is counter culture to their agenda. Just like politics. One sided only. Remember the Trump rallies where 25,000 showed up? Now, he continues to have them, but........crickets. The Megalomaniac forms a "bipartisan" Jan.6th panel with Liz Chaney as the "bipartisan", it's plastered everywhere. Why? This is designed as a propaganda tool to interfere with the 2022 and 2024 elections. Wait for the "leaks" that never transpired or are forgotten without retractions. Freedom of the press IS their right, but contained in that same Amendment is OUR right to free speech. Guilt by omission is still a violation, and they need to be held accountable for it. When Chinese, Russian, North Korean, Iranian, and Venezuelan leaders are all over this platform and others but a former President is censored due to unproven allegations by a petty old crone and her henchmen and salivating dogs, we have a problem indeed. Remember when DeSantis was all over the news until he sent State Highway Patrol to Texas to help guard their borders? Now, he's been isolated and they won't cover him because of his popularity on the conservative side. Same with Sarah Sanders, Nicki Haley, Candace Owens, et al. There is no fair or balanced coverage anymore. I get it on cable, you should have a choice on perspective if you choose. Major broadcasting networks that are required to broadcast over the airwaves need be held to a higher standard and balanced and equal time rules should apply. Instead of representing one side only, or manipulating words to totally change the coverage, they should allow Americans to decide for themselves again without interference. Real journalism, pure facts, both sides, totally transparent. That's how you stop divisions. Politicians on both sides would be exposed. Organizations masquerading as "protesters" who demand money then purchase homes for themselves with it at the expense of "the cause" would be outed. Special interest groups would have to be honest and forthwith. No more "divide and conquer". I'd sure like to see programming that taught a moral or a lesson again. Sure better than "The View" !
