I was doing some research the other day when I came across one of the last photos taken of the Great Native American Chiefs. I couldn't miss the looks in their faces and their eyes. Especially after everything we put them through. Forced marches, one of the world's bloodiest genocides, the wholesale murder of wives, children, and their elderly. We took their land. We locked them up on reservations. We appointed corrupt despots called Indian Agents. We broke virtually every treaty they signed that we proposed in the hopes of peace. We changed their nomadic lifestyles. We changed their tribal laws and removed their rights to enforce them. We restricted their rights to free speech. We stole their lands in the name of "progress". We forced the change of religion on them. We confiscated their guns, and forbade them to possess bows and arrows with the promise we'd feed them. That consisted of dried beans, corn, flour, some sugar, a little salt, and some maggot infested rotting meat. We kept shrinking their reservations. We gave them a monthly stipend, and you'll know when it comes by the passed out bodies sleeping on the roads and ditches heading from the bars in town to the reservation. Today, their total once great spirit and ethic has been broken and the once great stories passed down have been silenced. In the name of "progress".
I become ill when I see that " progress " today. Could you imagine the social aberrations of today occurring in the Indian Nation? A squaw murdering her own baby at birth? Two braves trying to live in the same tent? Two squaws marrying? Destroying camps and burning tepees because they were "protesting" the Chief? The wholesale selling of land to foreign countries? Buying up land then forcing it to lie fallow? Picture covering Mother Earth back then with concrete or asphalt. Usurping their own people by mandating wampum from them to give to people they don't even know to do things against them they wouldn't approve of. Naturally, none of that would've been permitted nor tolerated. You hunted with the men or worked with the squaws. There were no "watchers". Elders were respected, and told the history and tribal stories over fires at night. Their very organizational hierarchy was far superior to anything we have today, IMO. Then, my mind went wonky, and I pictured Miss Apache Nation as a transgender and fell out of my chair due to paroxysms of laughter. Does a soul good. Meanwhile, back to the point.
KNOWING and SEEING everything that's happening today and not thinking the exact same future is in store for us as happened to THEM is insanity. Think about it. Think about the things done to OUR freedoms and God given rights in the name of "progress". LISTEN to the calls for SCOTUS packing after yesterday's decision pertaining to State election laws. The new drumbeat to Federalize future elections. The required mandate to "improve" a " discriminatory " election process that worked fine in 2008 - 2016 without change. Reminds me of a proposed new "treaty" they have no interest in honoring. Our government has learned many tricks from world history, and a few from its own dastardly past. People talk trash about China's past, yet sit in silence as our government slowly perpetrates the same horrors on us. MSM and social media are in cahoots with Big Tech, and now found complicit in political censorship, one of the last bastions and freedoms before a tyrannical takeover by oppressors. Call me a tin foil hatter if you want, or Boomer. You can't call me wrong, though. Who/what's going to stop it? When ? Are YOU sure? Learn from the past how this has always played out.
Given the choice today, one would HAVE to wonder how different our lives would have been as members of one of the Tribes. What did THEY do wrong? Trust US ? Hmmmm........
