His first real music..
Realizing how much potential beauty was lost among monotony and predictability. Discovering you can feel the music and that your body somehow recognized a rhythm you'd never heard before. Empathically inundated with the song's essence, carried by each note.
I can barely get my mind around not knowing music. My mind is jumping from one potentially missed moment of music to another. Music makes the world go round. Music is in my soul.
?Never getting a melody planting roots in your mind, trapping you in a seemingly endless loop.
?Never surprising yourself because you noticed you were singing along to an obnoxiously catchy song that you dont actually like.
?Never be so moved by a song drenched in heartache that it brings you to tears.
?Never singing and dancing with your children
?Never hearing their precious, angelic voices so pure that each note merely kisses your ears.
?Never laying down on the grass, closing your eyes, soaking up the sun, and listening to a guitarist practicing by you at the park.
?Never witnessing the magic of a lullaby as you finish with a long diminuendo until you melt into the silence; having successfully delivered your darling baby to the land of dreams.
?Never feel the elation of an entire congregation as you sing praise to God together in an unnoticed, perfectly imperfect dissonance.
I could literally go on forever about "nevers" of a life without music, individualism, and creativity.
The quote in the picture is another I took from The Giver by Lois Lowry. If their goal is to erase individualism and to eliminate every record of history, then music would have to be a thing of the past.
