The buzz word for this administration is "unity", but the actions are anything but. You can't have unity when the divisions are stoked and militarized on a daily basis. Unity is what they fear MOST, because Americans have a very nasty record when they coalesce as one. The biggest problem they have is their blindness to hypocrisy, which they demonstrate on a daily basis. Pick a topic. Any topic. Now put a color in front of that topic. The effect of dilineating anything by putting a color in front of it screams racism and identifys the true racist. Have you ever noticed that the people who call others racists are indeed the racists themselves? It's becoming so obvious today, just like the previous buzzword "equality". There's absolutely nothing equal about preferential treatment of any gender, group, race, or religion. We're all born the same : naked, hungry, and helpless. That's equal. Nobody's born with clothing on, after a meal, and walks out on their own. Combined with the God given rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we all start out on the road of life.
It really doesn't take long to figure out the reason for inciting divisions. Due to the fact money can be raised to forward any cause automatically makes it a power center. We've long been revering megalomaniacs to the exclusion of intellectual thought, and the practice continues. I could mention scads of names, but you can, too. To understand the consequences of such people is the foundation to build on to stop them so we can be an equally united society once again. Our very uniqueness was derived from our diversity combined with open discussions, education, and compromise. Achieving something unilaterally necessitates oppression of other's contributions, and is the favorite tool of tyrants. To then remove their rights to free speech in defense of their position is what leads to revolution. Continued abuse of power requires more and more fuel, until there's no more left and the whole structure collapses like the house of cards it actually is. It's never pretty, but very commonplace in our world's history.
Rather than expand on rhetoric designed to infuriate any particular cause or group, why not coalesce against those who do and start bringing down their houses of cards before they destroy us? How? Effective economics. Money. Always. Don't contribute to any cause, candidate, political party, or anything else that points a finger at somebody else as the cause of your/their position in life. Political candidates who run negative campaigns without standing on their own qualifications need to be ignored. Organizations who demand contributions or there will be reprisals should get nothing. That's extortion, and it's illegal. Pay attention to where your money is given. Most times, there's actually a neighbor who needs more help than some big charity who pays it's CEO over $600,000.00/year. Going to the Salvation Army, buying racks of clothes, and dropping them off in homeless camps helps all involved more than funding somebody else's "cause". Insistence on toning down political rhetoric is paramount. Invectives need to cease. Civil discourse is mandatory.
We CAN do better. We KNOW how. We've simply got to put on our adult caps again and get it done. Don't forget your switches for the recalcitrants !
