Yes, sadly, it has begun in earnest. The negative approach to the 2022 midterm elections. Just when you're convinced it can't POSSIBLY get any nastier, they define a new bottom. So, how do we avoid getting played and manipulated? The answer is actually quite simple. The actuality of people doing it are few, however. If you can't even get people to read anymore, it stands to reason they won't/can't/don't want to write, either. Seems to go "hand in hand" as it were. For those of you willing to do ANYTHING to insulate yourselves, here it comes. Sit down with a blank pad of paper and the writing implement of your choice. With a cup of coffee or tea, in solitude. Concentrate on what's TRULY the most important things in your life. Write them down. These should not be flexible, either. The truth and nothing but, subject to NO ONE'S interference. Now, it becomes a simple matter to match a political candidate who matches your criteria. DON'T trust what anybody else says, do your own research. Call them, or visit their offices. Insist on speaking to the actual person on the phones or emails. If they won't talk to you, you've been told they won't listen, either. Start from the down ballot list first, then work up. The future politicians will be coming from the "non-descript" races of today. Changing the future requires we start there. Ask them about term limits. Ask them about age caps. Yes, i said that. I'm over 70, and I know that flexibility and compromise dwindle over time. We've GOT to break up the octagenarian "home" we call CONgress. We need people with fresh ideas willing to work for a better future for our country, not their corrupt cohorts. We need people working for US, not a political agenda. Politicians need to know they'll be thrown out if they break their word or oath. Immediately upon proof. We The People deserve better. We're not just sled dogs to be taxed for THEIR agenda. Just go back and read the 16th Amendment and its desired purpose. It wasn't JUST equal apportionment. It was to collect taxes for the BETTERMENT and general welfare of American citizens and our nation. It's time we got back to that. We've simply got to get control of the mongrels and curs in CONgress and weed them out. Party/affiliations be hanged. It's about US, not THEM. Then, when people try to tell you otherwise, you'll know who/what THEY are. You can't be played when you know more than the one who's trying to play you. Falling into their division traps is the true peril in our society right now. Trust me when I say it's going to get INSANE before the next election. Think Pelosi or Schumer are ready to give up their power centers? Think Romney or Ryan will abandon their poison arrow agenda? We MUST insist on better. Much, much better. For US and our nation !
