If marriage was a musical performance, it would not be a solo act, and neither would it be a duet. If marriage was a musical performance, it would be a trio where God carries the melody, and the husband and the wife join in perfect harmony. Whenever there is discord in the marriage, it is always because either the husband or the wife has fallen out of tune with God. Getting the marriage back in harmony requires bringing the discordant spouse back in tune with God. Getting back in tune often requires a moment of silence in order to listen to the melody and pick the right key. Do not just sing your marriage song alone or with your spouse. God is carrying the melody. Sing in harmony with Him. It takes practice to figure out how to live together in harmony with God and to do it well. But the good news is that God, the director and sole audience of your performance is also the one who carries the melody of your music. Sing along with God!
