Pretty much false entirely: retaliatory ground operations are more strategic and surgical than retaliatory air strikes can ever be. Why? Bombs kill whatever they land and detonate on/near. Soldiers have the ability to discriminate and choose specifically who to kill and who not to kill.Keep in mind ground operations would result in more Israeli military deaths. Yes, there would be fewer local civilian casualties. Israel, as any nation would, values it's citizens and military lives more than that of nations outside of their jurisdiction. This is not bigotry, Arabs and people of any race may become Israeli citizens, it is simply defining borders and scope of work: nations primary function is to protect the righrs of citizens, non citizens come second to that especially in war. So, it makes sense for Israel to soften a target with air strikes and follow up, cleaning up any missed hostiles with ground forces.
