Is it just me, or have all y'all noticed that the main detractors of our society today are young'uns ? It's like your first ________, that was given to you without any effort on your part. You didn't take care of it as much as you do when YOU have to buy it. You also learned the responsibility of how to take care of and maintain it. Didn't matter what it was, a car, pet, house, clothing, jewelry, even money. That's what we're facing today, and I honestly believe the only way to get things back on track is mandatory service for ALL. There's plenty to do that isn't just military, too. You take an entrance exam to determine your potential, then you're given choices based on your strengths. Absence of education isn't a problem, either. There's jobs that can accommodate that just as well as the ones that require the most skill. Now, everybody has a modicum of knowledge about service as well as interpersonal relations. Instead of an inbred society, we've got an experienced one based on service to others. Instead of people running out to fill up their tanks during a panic, they'd allow the elderly and essential workers to go and get some gas first. When a snowstorm is approaching, people would only buy enough milk and bread for themselves and to give to the ones who can't get to the store. Instead of tearing statues down, they'd be helping their neighbors and communities build for the future for all. There wouldn't be the I, me, my philosophy after one's eyes are truly opened. Individuality would take a backseat to the comfort and pride of making true friends that last a lifetime. Respect would be learned by effort and experience. People would be more sensitive to efforts to denigrate or destroy what had been built by them or others. EVERYBODY has to serve, politicians included. NO exceptions to the rule. There's a job out there for EVERY one to do. We all have different strengths and weaknesses, but when combined for a common cause, we become an impenetrable force. That's what we're lacking today. We're NOT united, and our house is in peril. That's why the older generation is grumbling about the younger generations. Without any experience or credibility, they're trying to establish themselves by denigrating what we've accomplished. They fail to realise that the reason we're still a functioning nation is due to the mostly elders that continue to do the essential work. Doubt me? Show me an infrastructure employee in Portland by day and an insurrectionist by night. Show me young people working 12 hour days to provide food for our nation instead of playing the Greta Thunberg agenda. Show me people who don't take the grocery store stock for granted, when a huge percentage of millenials actually think chocolate milk is from brown cows. Show me people who are concerning themselves with their five and ten year plans instead of only today. What are they going to do when the essential workers die off and nobody can accommodate the needs of society anymore? It's time to recognize the problem for what it is, and address it NOW ! We're witnessing verification of the statement "A house divided cannot stand". We just going to watch it happen ?
