After seeing the incessant parade of mental midgets snivelling about evictions on TV, I really flamed. If I was a landlord and my tenant came to me about a problem and asked for help, I'd work with them and help them get back on their feet. I'd be happy with partial payments as long as they stayed in contact and kept me in the loop, so I could keep my bank and creditors updated. It's a very simple courtesy, but one that's ignored. Yeah, we can see that car you're still making payments on. We can understand your full coverage insurance because of that. You still have power, food, and styled hair. You're always going somewhere, just not to work apparently. Some of you are "on" every freebie in existence. Utility assistance, unemployment, food stamps, food boxes, and you want more, yet you're not doing what's right concerning the roof over your head. Then the CDC overstepped it's bounds by establishing an eviction moratorium that most Governors got behind. Now, THEY'RE being sued, and rightfully so. Governmental overreach !
My advice to you is very time sensitive. All of this is going to come to a head VERY shortly. The very best paying jobs will be the first filled, and some are paying signing bonuses and benefits. After these are gone, the run of the mill jobs will be filled. When that's over, the freebie train's over, and our patience is over, what's next? Before the pandemic hit, we had homeless Americans. Rents were escalating in the kennels us rural folk call cities. Then came the pandemic, and coupled with an upcoming election, politicians were promising the world to get elected. Now, they're done with us until the next election, and they've got a whole new agenda to give our money to flocking across our southern border. Since money doesn't grow on trees, and government does nothing to earn it, by necessity they are going to be cutting back on the handouts in spite of raising taxes on everyone. It's simple arithmetic. Now, you're faced with a decision. Are you going to be homeless alongside your landlord or will you be doing what's right? Yeah, they're going bankrupt because of YOU !
Just some other juicy tidbits for your consideration. WHEN the inevitable eviction occurs, your situation is frantic. There's finding another place, which will require first/last/damage deposit. There will be security deposits for utilities. Address changes. Driver's license changes. School registration changes. Voting precinct changes. Cellphone carrier notifications/address changes. Learning the new area. Moving expenses. Packing materials. Saying goodbyes for you and your children. Explaining everything to friends and family. Trying to justify to a new employer and landlord. Think things are rough now? Not enough time left in a day? Think you're having a hard time sleeping nights NOW? You really haven't seen complications YET. We haven't begun to discuss the bill collectors brought on by your less than human treatment of your landlords and breach of contract. Everything COULD have been much simpler if you treated others the way you EXPECT everybody to treat you. You know, human.
Get the job NOW, and talk to every creditor you have. If not, better get prepared to lose even more of what you don't have!
